Calycopis isobeon
this butterfly was spotted at night near a street lamp. It is about 1" or more round. This looks like a species from lycaeninae REKOA.
Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 7 weeks into the 6 month dry season.
This is another I never saw again. I would love to get some better shots! Thanks Mayra!
That might be a criteria, but I am not sure if this is really a exclusion criteria for one of the two.
The only difference I can see between the two based on the BOA live photo collection is that the Origo has all white over the eyes on the head and the isobeon has black over the eyes on the head.n Can you confirm?
Unfortunately I probably have to disappoint you. 100% ID is not possible, since you can't separate Isobeon and Origo for sure.

Thanks Bayucca, small wonders, Cyndy, and Karen. I was so caught up looking for the I.D. that I missed all your comments!
