Beggar Ticks

Bidens pilosa

Description:

These yellow and white flowers of the Asteraceae family are fairly common in the Philippines... They're sometimes considered as a nuisance since they can grow anywhere. Their method of dispersal is through the achenes with barbed spines that can attach to clothing or fur and can then be transferred elsewhere. Though a weed, one can't help admiring their simple but beautiful flowers...

Habitat:

Terrestrial, just about anywhere...
