Young frog about 4-5 cm SVL. Mostly a brilliant green with some brown esopcially on the dorsum and between the eyes.
Living in a tub pond landscaped with aquatic plants in rural back yard.
This is the largest frog species in Tennessee and usually inhabits semi-permanent to permanent ponds. The tadpoles may take up to two years to mature here. They will eat any living thing that fits in their mouth including invertebrates, snakes, frogs, turtles, and even small birds.
