Streptopelia chinensis

Description:

White spotted pinkish brown and grey above. Pinkish brown and white below. On either side of neck a miniature rufous and black 'chessboard'.

Habitat:

Dry deciduous biotope.

Notes:

found it within buddhist temple premises of bodh gaya.

Thanks Argybee.. doves are usually slow at take off or any movement for that matter.. :)

These are introduced and naturalised here.
They are such a placid and gentle bird but maybe a little too slow because our introduced cats seem to catch them so easily.
