Unknown fungi, Plant Panicum virgatum

Description:

The first photo shows mycorrhizal fungi infections (in a mutual relationship with the plant. The blue circles are coils and the round blue balls are vesicles. The second picture shows Chytrid (dark blue) and faint, almost donut-like circles that are likely spores.

Notes:

Photo taken with a compound microscope with a camera attachment. From a greenhouse study-the fungi are growing on the roots of Panicum virgatum "Cave in Rock." Stained using tripan blue. The fainter rectangles in the photo are the plant root cells.
