Black Swan

Cygnus atratus

Description:

Native to Aotearoa, the Black Swan is a beautiful, elegant bird with mostly black plumage with white feathers visible when the wings are lifted and when in flight. They also have a red bill and red eyes.

Habitat:

Floating around on the water in Hoopers Inlet, near Allans Beach with several other Black Swans.
