Orange Gull

Description:

Pieridae; Pierinae; Cepora aspasia anaitis Eschscholtz 1821.According to pictures in Philepidoptera, this specimen appears to be a female. "The Pierinae is a group of butterflies in the family Pieridae (order Lepidoptera) that are named for their white wings with black marginal markings. Habitat:

I spotted this female Orange Gull in a rice field about a month after the rice was harvested. There was a plethora of wild plants and grasses and this little butterfly was enjoying itself, it looked like it was tasting everything in sight.
