White-marked Tussock Moth

Orgyia leucostigma

Description:

This one looked right except it has a lot of white on the head and thorax. After a bit of research, I was able to match it to one of the color variations of this common Tussock Moth. This one is a male. Females are wingless (and therefore flightless). National Moth Week 2017.

Habitat:

Suburban. Attracted to a flood light overnight.
