Spiny Devilfish

Inimicus didactylus

Description:

This devilfish is a lot less colorful than my previous spotting of the same species ( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/790... ), but just as intriguing. It was also much feistier!

Notes:

I spotted this critter at a depth of 51 feet. It was a good thing I was wearing gloves, because I accidentally touched it while it was still buried in the sand! When I was taking pictures of it, I was trying to face it so I could get a good shot of its head, but it kept turning away from me.
