Echidna nebulosa
Also known as Nebulous Moray Eel, Clouded Moray, Snowflake Moray, Flowery Eel, Starry Moray Eel and Diamond-backed Moray. They feed on fish and invertebrates, and grow to a length of about 60cm.
Found singly on inshore protected reef flats and harbours, hiding in dead coral and crevasses, at depths of 1 to 40m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
Spotted this critter at a depth of about 30 feet (dive site: Angel's Cove, Talikud Island), and it was completely out in the open. It moved inside its tiny cave as soon as I approached, but poked its head out for some photo opps!
