@if you give a fox a biscuit: You were absolutely NOT wrong! Tersa is actually a Hawk moth which are sometimes also called Sphinx or Hornworms. Scientific name is Sphingidae.

I was wrong. It's a tersa sphinx moth. Yay!

I think that is possibly a hawk moth. I have a similar picture of one.
