Denise's Pygmy Seahorse

Hippocampus denise

Description:

My previous spotting of this critter: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/810...

Notes:

I spotted this lone pygmy on a sea fan perched on a coral head at around 90 feet. Dive site: San Juan Reef, Samal Island. The 4th photo shows the same critter, but it had jumped to a section of the Gorgonian coral that had its polyps out.

It's a wonderful experience seeing them underwater, isn't it? :)

Waw what are they beautiful. In 2004 I was diving in Lembeh Strait in the north of Sulawesi and we saw one of his cousins. I remember staring at the coral until one of the guides pointed out one. Then suddenly they were everywhere.
