Erebid Moth

Diatenes aglossoides

Description:

An erebid moth with purple tinged beige wings with thin squiggly brown lines. Wing span was about 40 mm. The hind wings were slightly paler and each wing had a distinct dark spot. Costa showed dark specks.

Habitat:

Attracted to bright garden lights - warm night

Notes:

Larvae of this species live on wattle. Pupae have been found in borer holes under loose bark.
