Description:

About 12 millimeters in length, colored as shown.

Habitat:

On a flower near the visitor center. Surrounding native habitat is mostly mesquite forest with some grassland, and riparian corridors.

Notes:

This beetle species might be an upside down firefly mimic. Fireflies are quite toxic, so several other insects mimic them.
