Chestnut-tailed Starling

Sturnia malabarica

Also known as Grey-headed Mynah, this a medium sized starling of some 20 cm in length, with grey-brown back and black flight feathers. The underparts are whitish but tinged rufous; while the head is light grey with whitish streaking around the collar - indicating that this should be the subspecies S. m. nemoricola. Other recognisable traits are white irises and a blue-based yellow beak.
