Little Owl

Athene noctua

Description:

This little fellow is a resident on our friends estate, living in the unused chimneys. Today when I took these photos it was raining quite hard and the owl was sheltering from the rain on the window sill, so I was able to get a half decent photo, through the window and mosquito screen. It was such a lovely feeling taking the photos with him looking straight at me.

Habitat:

I have an update to this spotting in that I have discovered where the owl spends most of its time when not out hunting or sunning itself on window ledges. I have seen it most days sitting in the air vents in the neighbours redundant chimney.
