Hi Liam, I thought Cassin's first too but when I read the description, it said the tail wasn't forked. That was the only thing that swayed me to Western. As always, thank you for your amazing bird expertise!
Western Kingbirds are brighter, also note the contrasting white chin, a unique field mark of Cassin's Kingbird. Nice spotting!
