Description:

This little creature landed on the hood of the car while I was stopped to take some photographs in Mabira forest. Sternotomis itzingeri is a species of flat-faced longhorn beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae.

Habitat:

Along a dirt road in Mabira forest.

Pam, Udo Schmidt agreed with the compromise to name yours Sternotomis cf. itzingeri. He is himself not 100% sure about Variabilis (looking at the visible spots) or Itzingeri (considering the location). The problems are the lacking data of DNA or genital examination in these Cerambycidae. Udo Schmidt is the author of this one:
