Hypsypops rubicundus
Large, bright orange fish. The largest were about a foot long.
Found in the cold, shallow water at La Jolla Cove, CA. There were many clumps of long sea grass along with kelp.
These guys were totally fearless. I brought a crumbled up granola bar in the water and they swam up to take it out of my hand.
