This young palm is commonly known as Carnaúba Palm and can grow much more after many years and the trunk can become extremely thick. It has bunches of small fruits with a hard skin.

Habitat:

This tree is typical from the semi-arid areas in the northeast of Brazil. But it is also common in the "Coconut Forest" or "Transition Forest"(Mata dos Cocais), a small zone of vegetation that is the borderline between semi-arid region(caatinga vegetation) and the Amazon Forest.
