Orbilia alnea
The fruit bodies are translucent orange throughout, initially with thick, round margins, which become wavy when older. Up to 0.5 mm diameter.
The cups grow individually or gregariously on decaying wood from deciduous trees including that of alder, willow, silver birch, holly and oak. They sometimes overgrow old pyrenomycete fungi such as Diatrype stigma.
