Odocoileus hemionus
This Family of Deer we Call Our Own, They stay separated from the Herd since "Mama" was hit by a car 4 years ago (there is still bone showing through her skin on one leg), she is a real trooper and this year she had twins! Our home is on stilts on a cliff, this family lives literally right under our house. She births them in our yard and they show no fear of us or the Dogs.

Thanks Emma, We do keep them separated, but last time the Dogs and the deer were out it at the same time was amazingly peaceful, I worry more during rut when the big bucks are here, they are really amazing but dangerous. (Our puppy Molly only lays down next to the fence and the deer feed on the other side, its really amazing, our neighbors cat "plays" with the deer).
Just to warn you , I saw a very sad video of a deer beating up a dog with their legs. Believe me ,the dog was rendered totally helpless. Please take care of him. Wild Life is Wlid Life after all. Especially when babies a re involved!
BTW,do deers bark like dogs?
