Wombat,to me at first site it seems a juvenil gull,larus argentatus or larus marinus,juvenil's in gull are very similar at this distance,but it's dificult whithout having an estimatif of the size,do you can tell me aproxim...the size?if is little,then it's not a gull,nice spotting
