Bobcat

Lynx rufus

Notes:

While enjoying a leisurely Sunday morning waffle breakfast, my husband's jaw dropped and he pointed out the dining room window... Thinking we might see the black bear rumored to be in the neighborhood, my children and I quickly turned to look for ourselves. We were all shocked to see this bobcat strolling through our yard and down our front walkway! The beautiful cat continued across our driveway, up the steep knoll behind our home and down the other side... Amazing! 2/29/12 - The bobcat crossed out of the woods through our side yard and over the knoll behind our house again (second siting about one year later)! 4/16/12 - The kids and I spotted what we believe are bobcat tracks in the muddy trail behind our house (see pics).

Odd you should ask, my husband and I saw her/him again yesterday afternoon (too quick for pictures this time!) We were amazed to have seen it again!

They are so beautiful! I was lucky enough to see one up close in the woods of South Carolina when I was a teenager. Was a sight I will never forget!
