Description:

Small birds of prey, medium sized falcons - about 35 cm in length; with long wings and tail; often spotted hovering in one place with a tail spread like a fan (pic N° 5). Presented here females or juveniles, who look alike - more brown above, cream-whitish below, boldly spotted black all over.

Habitat:

Observed in mountain habitats, pasturelands and coniferous forest, in Jura range Natural Reserve.
