Description:

Dark coloured with a tomato-like head and a prominent white stripe down the back. The stripe is a designer one! They shake the heads a lot.

Habitat:

This is in Village Dwarhatta. So lots of greenery, weedy plants, grasses and then nice gardens inside rural houses. These caterpillars were on land adjacent to a temple. It is basically unused land on which there are tall trees and small plants growing wild. I noted one leaf had been nibbled away and there was a red thing showing through the missing lamina..I pinched the end of the leaf gingerly (not knowing if the plant would cause itching or not) and there they were...
