Callistemon cf. citrinus
Callistemon is a genus of 34 species of shrubs in the family Myrtaceae, all of which are endemic to Australia. The species are commonly referred to as bottlebrushes because of their cylindrical, brush like flowers resembling a traditional bottle brush.
Seen in an urban garden just off the beach in Phillip Island. Callistemon are found in the more temperate regions of Australia, mostly along the east coast and south-west, and typically favour moist conditions so when planted in gardens thrive on regular watering. However, at least some of the species are drought-resistant.

Well thank you Vinny...
No worries, lovely collection of photo's by the way :)
thanks Vinny... we'll wait and see if anyone has any other ideas. In the meantime, I'll label it as a possibility!
Definitely a common nursery plant but I don't know Callistemon so well that their may not be a similar species, perhaps someone else will shed some more light......
Hmmm Vinny... what to do about that do you think? Shall I leave it, or remove the name and see if someone comes up with something within its range?
Not within its natural range but Callistemon citrinus seems a possible match?
