Bostrychia hagedash
A large and stout brown ibis of some 80 cm in length; with iridescent bronze wing covers. Grey or brown head without crest; face with white line between the eye and the bill. Red ridge on upper mandible of dark grey bill.
Common bird in sub-Saharan Africa, and very common around the lake Awassa, likes clearings, grasslands and lawns. Roosts in trees, and spend days roaming in neighboring swampy woodland and clearings, usually in smaller parties. Seen also in mixed groups with other ibises.
