Spotted in Costa Mesa, under an eucalyptus tree. A basidiomycota fungus.

Hi Seema, do you mean Pitholithus with that common name? It can be sometimes hard to tell which common name refers to which species as most fungi do not have one. And this is why a cross section would help so much. :)
Hi Orbea....I think its dead man's foot fungus...
Please make a cross section next time, I would guess Scleroderma.
Please suggest an identity for this fungi.
