Description:

Also known as Black-barred Sandperch, Black-banded Grubfish, Black-banded Sandperch and White-blotched Grubfish, this fish loves to sit around and observe its surroundings. It's not very shy of divers, but will scamper away when approached directly. They feed on small animals and zooplankton, and grow to about 26cm in length.

Habitat:

Found singly or in small groups -- especially a group of one male and several females -- in shallow lagoons, inner and outer reefs among rubble areas. Found at depths of 12 to 25m all across the Asia-Pacific.
