Common Greenshield

Flavoparmelia caperata

It is a mint green color and it's kind of crusty.

By the side of the road in the woods. There was snow on the ground and it was extremely cold out.

We found lichen on trees in the forest next to the road. There was snow on the ground. It was very cold and I couldn’t feel my hands. The wind was very harsh. The lichen was a mint green color, and it was kind of crusty. There was a lot of it on most of the trees in the woods. The Kingdom is fungi, division is Ascomycota, class is Lecanoromycetes. I believe it is a form of Foliose. lat- 43.582226 lon- -70.699418
