Description:

Males: bright blue with yellow down their sides. All four wings have a black mark at the base.

Habitat:

One of the most common dragonflies in Europe. Can be seen in summer around ponds and lakes, and even in gardens.

Notes:

It lives up to its name: its flattened body gives it a fat, broad look. Flight period: April - August
