Eurema blanda
My garden in Tamil Nadu, India.
Very fast moving butterfly, that landed on the ground, or a low leaf or twig, for a second or 2 before darting off again.
Thanks guys. And I for my part will try and catch one with it's wings open. Might not be easy, as so far I haven't even managed to get a look at it when it is still, with wings open, let along photograph it. But they cut the cow grass in the back of the garden and I notice 1 or 2 flying around that area, so I'll keep stalking. They sure are sensitive, jumpy little things though!
This looks like E.blanda to me though, look at the top brown patch on left, the same one in this pic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Three-...
Though I must say, wiki itself might have mixed up these two species. Will follow this ID trail closely now :)
I am also possibly hasty with my ID and don't know the local species. This needs a closer look.
Both Eurema hecabe and Eurema blanda look almost similar and I am not an expert to distinguish them. Nice catch.
