zebra bee

Habitat:

Just under 1cm long this zebra striped small bee shakes and is very active while feeding on asters, goldenrod and boneset. They are storing pollen all the way up the sides of the thorax which is very interesting. This is the first year i spotted this species of bee on our meadow re-wilded yard and flower garden. They are moderately abundant this month. This one is feeding on a self-wilded species of aster all over our front yard which is only occasionaly weed-whacked.
