Description:

Family: Nymphalidae, Tribe: Danaini. Black, yellow and white bands. 4th-5th instar. Length: 25-45 mm. Feeding on Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca)

Habitat:

Meadow with milkweed and other weeds next to lake. (Mauch Chunk Lake).

Notes:

Red Milkweed Beetle (Tetraopes tetrophthalmus) also feeding on milkweed.
