Cairina moschata
Mostly mottled black and white. Red warty patch around eyes.
These strolled nonchalantly across the road, mounted the pavement, "ducked" under barrier and stepped down the slope right to the waters of Kandy Lake. This was near the Temple of the Tooth. The pious people had put out bread, rice and biscuits etc., and many species of birds were feeding on the offerings. These ducks may be temple property or maybe they were released "beautify "the lake. In any case, they seemed very comfortable with the crowds and no one teased them.
