White-tailed deer (buck)

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Anyone know how to determine the number of points. I can see six on this young buck, but he seems small to be a "six-point buck". In the third photo you can see the characteristic white under-tail.

Habitat:

National Bison Range in Montana. They love the grasslands.

As per the suggestion, the name that should be added (above, see Scientific name), to this spotting is Odocoileus virginianus.
