Desert Cottontail

Sylvilagus audubonii

Description:

A small rabbit with brown-grey fur and large ears.

Habitat:

Found on the UNM campus traveling around the gardens.

Notes:

I have seen quite a few of these rabbits on campus. I am guessing it's a desert cottontail but it might be an eastern cottontail so please let me know what you think it is if you are good with rabbits.
