Glassy-winged Sharpshooter

Homalodisca vitripennis

Description:

Small leafhopper with red, see-thru wings, white abdomen with blue dots, yellow face with a dark dotted top. It ejects liquid from the end of its abdomen toward predators as a defense.

Habitat:

This hopper was on a Pomegranate tree in backyard.

Notes:

This one did not move to the other side of the branch in a sideways motion as they usually do. It was quite happy where it was although insisted on trying to douse me with it's liquid.
