Description:

Quercus coccifera is native to the Mediterranean region and Northern African Maghreb, south to north from Morocco to France and west to east from Portugal to Turkey, crossing Spain, Italy, Libya, Balkans, Mediterranean islands, Greece, and Crete. It blooms from March to May in weather still wet. (Wikipedia) The most characteristic of Fagaceae family is that the acorns are held in a cup (red circle) covered in dense, elongated, reflexed scales.
