Family: Aeshnidae. Genus: Aeshna (Darners) Length: 68-78 mm (2.7 - 3.1 inches). Coloring: Base is brownish/black. Greenish crescent-shaped spots at top of thorax. Sides of thorax - yellow or yellowish/green stripes. Abdomen has bluish/green spots. Feeds on variety of insects including mosquito larvae and even small shrimp and tadpoles.
