Project Noah Nature School
Family = Pergidae
A set of late instar sawfly larvae quickly adopt their defensive tail up pose for a comical display.
On Eucalyptus sapling.
Great capture!!
I've only just noticed about six parasitic eggs of a tachinid fly on one larva in Pic #4. Even their foul eucalyptus compounds and tail waving hasn't saved this one.
Fantastic series.
This is very amazing shot Martin.. Thanks for sharing... Lot to learn here..!!
I love their little outstretched legs ! - cute. Great photos
No KarenL I thought they could have a group hug.
I trust you hugged them Martin?!!
great pics Martin!!
Seems the same as this spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/727... but no definite ID even from Ken.
I'm not hugging that. Very good pictures martin.
They are always reaching for something. Love it !
