Spotted this rather big moth on the wall of a petrol station before entering Kota Belud town, Sabah.
I agree then,The reference looks reliable.
More like Ambulyx pryeri, as in http://www.sphin-sea.unibas.ch/SphinSEA/... (by the dark "shoulder stripes").
