Sea Grape

Cocolobba uvivera

Description:

Native to Florida, Sea Grape is not cold hardy. It produces an edible fruit but is really not much worth eating as the fruit contains a large seed and has very little flesh.

Habitat:

Coastal areas: Siesta Key

Notes:

The winter leaves get some pretty interesting coloration, especially with the sun shining through them.
