Also the light was very bad, I had just wake up next to the orchid having slept in the savannah.

Very nice! It's definitely a Bletia but the suggestion of B.purpurea is tentative. Flower colour of this species is said to be variable and there are certainly photos on the web that have the same colouration as yours here, labelled B.purpurea. It's just a question of whether they're correctly identified!
