A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Neosparassus sp.
The colors in the images are accurate. 50mm approx across the legs
this example was discovered on garden lighting
Prof. Atkinson believes this is an undescribed species. A second letter from Rob Whyte agrees with that and both men tell me that the arachnologist working on these was a David Hirst who was unable to continue with his work. It has yet to be picked up by another researcher. Rob Whyte can be found through http://www.arachne.org.au/ While Prof Atkinson can be found http://www.findaspider.org.au/

wow!!! what a beauty.....
we are still a new nation martin, plenty for people to do and it is wonderful to be able to be a part of it
Well spotted Stephen.
I've certainly never described one of these.
There's a lot of work to be done in many groups.
Amazing looking spider!
I keep thinking there should be a band playing or something. This one is not previously described by science apparently....really, at least a drum!
