Phylum: Arthropoda, Class: Insecta, Order: Lepidoptera, Superfamily: Zygaenoidea, Family: Dalceridae. Length about an inch.
Dalceridae is a small family of moths with 84 known species. The larvae are rather slug-like and along with the larvae of the sister taxa Limacodidae and Megalopygidae are often known as slug caterpillars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalceridae).

That looks like a caterpillar but it looks like its made out of jelly i've never seen anything like it before!
