Gavião Carijó (Roadside Hawk)

Rupornis magnirostris

Description:

It weighs 250-300 g and measures 31-41 cm. The males are 20% smaller than females. Adults have the tip of the beak black with yellowish base. The head and the top of the wings are brownish. The chest is ferruginous, belly and legs are white and brown stripes. The base of the tail is white.

Habitat:

Live from Mexico to Argentina and throughout the Brazilian territory.
