Some type of moth. Wingspan approx 1" - blueish hue is because it was near dusk - was truly a grey with subtle light brown tone.

The blue is an illusion. I shot the photo shortly before dusk on a very overcast day. In person, the moth was a khaki grey - a bit like the background pattern on this webpage - perhaps a bit grayer though.
