A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Salvia pratensis
This sage, a member of Lamiaceae family, is an herbaceous perennial some 1,20m tall. Leaves are large, rugose and slightly toothed on edges. The hairy stems are rectangular, with leaves arranged in opposite pairs. The flower spikes are some 30cm long, regrouping ten to twelve verticils, each verticil carrying four flowers. Flowers are some 2.5cm in height, and blue.
